Making Sense of Modern Slavery
Check out our latest infographic Making Sense of Modern Slavery. Also have a quick look by clicking on the image.
Having spoken to and with hundreds of people, read thousands of pages of information, travelled tens of thousands of kms, and got involved in fighting for a slave free world in many ways over the last decade or so, I finally feel able to publish a general infographic about modern slavery.
I believe that being able to see the broad, or macro, scope of the modern issue of slavery, will help people see where they can sit within the abolition movement combating modern slavery, with their own unique, or micro, focus. If we do not take the time to understand the macro it can sometimes feel like we are doing it alone at the micro level and it can discouraging that our efforts may not see the end of slavery.
Infographics are a brilliant way of painting a picture without the need for reams of paper to explain it. I’ve done a bit of both. Not only have I, hopefully, produced an informative visual image, but I also hope the addition of the Infographic Guides (simplified and academic) will be a good informative companion to the infographic itself.
No doubt there is more to add, and more topics to cover, and those will arrive soon enough in the days, months and years to come, but have a look, be informed, be reminded, be equipped, share this with others and join the fight.
Go to the SAS Infographics page for other infographics that may be of interest. I’m starting to build a very small library, and will add more in time to come. Just by way of topics I am hoping to cover in the near future is Part 1 of the major report/convention/agreement timeline (Part 2 is already online); defining slavery (that will be controversial); what collaboration should look like; and maybe unpacking public sector; private sector; and civil sector activities.
